Bronte:
My parents moved to McMahons Point five years ago, and slowly but surely my siblings and I have all kind of found our way to areas close by. I think we all like to be close-knit. We've lived in Neutral Bay, we've lived in McMahons Point with them, and now we're here in Cammeray.
Lucy:
We just wanted to be somewhere close to the city, but then also close to our families. I think we just like this little suburban pocket that's still really close to all of the fun things that the city has to offer.
Bronte:
We have our first parents' group on Thursday, and I think in terms of being mums in the area, we're very intrigued to meet other people at this stage of life and see if there are people like us around, because we don't at present know anyone like us, I suppose. So yeah, it's gonna be fun, hopefully, to meet some peeps.
We had our baby at North Shore Private. We did some classes in the area, and we found that we never met any other two mums or two dads or, you know, other than mum-and-dad families, really.
I think there was a little bit of, "Oh, this is a bit funny, maybe we should've been having our baby over in the Inner West." A bit of that. But every step of the way, it was never like we were made to feel like the odd ones out.
Lucy:
Everyone else in the room was a mum-and-dad, traditional sort of family. And yeah, I don't know. It was just like they were saying, "Okay, dads, I mean partners, please stand up."
Bronte:
Lucy and the dads.
Lucy:
But I loved it. Everybody made us feel like it was totally normal.
Bronte:
When Frankie grows up, we can't wait to take her down to Sawmillers Reserve in McMahons Point, which is close to where we used to live and it's where my parents live. It's where we would take Winnie for walks and just had the best time down there.
It's where we found out we were having a girl, and on Christmas Eve last year, it's where Lucy proposed to me.
So it's a very special little spot in the world for us. We love it down there.
